My view on teaching music

My experience has taught me that everyone can create music, as long as there is someone to guide them through the process of learning to use their ears.

Ever since I was young I always thought of music as a way to express and cope with my feelings. My ambition to become a music teacher followed right after. In my line of work so far I have discovered that the way I was taught music in high school isn't the way I want to offer it to the students. I mainly want to focus on what makes making music so enchanting: the experience. So to starters I will always begin with discovering what music means to them personally. Music is experiencing, theorizing comes later!
